5. Cookies and Cookie Banner

5.1 What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files that are stored on your device when you visit our website. They serve to recognise your browser and enable certain functionalities.

5.2 Cookie categories

We use the following cookie categories:

  • Necessary cookies: essential for the operation of the website (e.g. language setting "cleanify_lang", session cookies). These are set without consent as they are required for basic functionality.
  • Analytics cookies: used to analyse user behaviour (Google Analytics). These are only activated after your explicit consent via the cookie banner.
  • Marketing cookies: enable targeted advertising and conversion tracking (Google Ads). These are also only set after consent.

5.3 Cookie banner and consent

Upon your first visit to our website, a cookie banner is displayed through which you can grant or refuse your consent to the use of non-essential cookies. You can change your choice at any time via the cookie settings. Consent is voluntary and can be revoked at any time (Art. 6 para. 6 FADP).

5.4 Managing cookies

Regardless of the cookie banner, you can manage, restrict or delete cookies in your browser settings. Disabling necessary cookies may impair the functionality of the website.

6. Google Services

6.1 Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland ("Google"). Google Analytics uses cookies that enable an analysis of your use of the website.

The information generated by the cookie about your use is generally transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. We have activated IP anonymisation so that your IP address is truncated by Google within the EU/EEA before transmission.

Legal basis: your consent via the cookie banner (Art. 6 para. 6 FADP; Art. 6 para. 1 let. a GDPR).

Objection: you can prevent collection by Google Analytics by revoking your consent in the cookie banner or by installing the browser add-on to disable Google Analytics.

6.2 Google Ads and conversion tracking

We use Google Ads to draw attention to our services on Google search result pages and on third-party websites. As part of Google Ads, we use conversion tracking to measure the effectiveness of our advertisements.

When you reach our website via a Google advertisement, a cookie is placed on your device by Google Ads. This cookie enables us and Google to recognise that you clicked on the advertisement and performed certain actions on our website (e.g. registration, request creation).

Legal basis: your consent via the cookie banner.

Further information on data protection at Google can be found at: policies.google.com/privacy

6.3 Google reviews

On the company profiles of our platform, we display publicly accessible reviews from Google Maps / Google Business Profile. These are imported via an interface (API) and marked as third-party content. cleanify.ch has no influence on the content of these reviews and does not guarantee their accuracy or currency.

7. Disclosure to Third Parties

7.1 Principle

Personal data is only disclosed to third parties if this is necessary for the fulfilment of our contractual obligations, if there is a legal obligation, or if you have expressly consented (Art. 6 para. 3 FADP).

7.2 Disclosure related to intermediation

In the context of intermediation, the customer's contact details are only transmitted to the selected cleaning company after acceptance of a quote. All other companies do not receive any personal customer data.

7.3 Data processors

We may engage third parties as data processors (Art. 9 FADP), in particular for:

  • Hosting and server infrastructure
  • Email dispatch (transactional emails)
  • Web analytics (Google Analytics)
  • Advertising (Google Ads)

Data processors process personal data only on our behalf and according to our instructions. We ensure through contractual agreements that they guarantee an adequate level of data protection.

7.4 Data transfer abroad

The use of Google services may result in personal data being transferred to the USA. The USA does not have a level of data protection equivalent to that of Switzerland. We base the transfer on your consent (Art. 17 para. 1 let. a FADP) as well as on the standard contractual clauses used by Google.

8. Data Security

We take appropriate technical and organisational measures in accordance with Art. 8 FADP to protect your data against unauthorised access, loss, misuse or destruction. These include in particular:

  • Encrypted data transmission via HTTPS/TLS
  • Passwordless authentication with time-limited one-time codes
  • Role-based access controls
  • Regular security updates
  • Server location in Switzerland or in the EEA

9. Retention and Deletion

Personal data is only retained for as long as is necessary for the fulfilment of the purposes stated in section 4 or as long as statutory retention obligations exist (Art. 958f CO: 10 years for business-relevant documents). Upon expiry of the retention period, the data is deleted or anonymised.

Upon deletion of a user account, personal data is deleted within 30 days, unless statutory retention obligations prevent this. Anonymised usage data may continue to be stored for statistical purposes.

10. Your Rights

Under the FADP (and, where applicable, the GDPR), you have the following rights:

  • Right of access (Art. 25 FADP): you may request information as to whether and which personal data we process about you.
